About Rajdeep (Raj) Roy

Rajdeep “Raj” Roy currently serves as the Director of Transmission for Southern California Edison (SCE).He is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, inspection, and construction of projects on the bulk power system.

Raj began his SCE career as an intern in Power Delivery and has been with the company for seventeen years. Most recently, Raj was the Director of Wildfire Safety, where he led and developed SCE’s wildfire mitigation strategy and plan. In prior roles, Raj has held various positions in Energy Procurement Management and Transmission & Distribution where he contributed leadership to efforts such as Distribution System Operator (DSO) vision and
roadmap, Grid Modernization, Charge Ready, large CAISO market design changes, and long-term energy procurement contracts.

Raj holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from theUniversity of Southern California. He also holds a certificate for completion of the University of Idaho’s Energy Executive program.

With a love of sports, Raj enjoys watching basketball and football while competing in fantasy leagues. He is an avid Los Angeles Lakers and Tom Brady fan. He is also a foodie and enjoys “surf and turf,” sushi, and steaks.
