About Camila Thorndike

Camila Thorndike is the Senior Director of Campaigns at Rewiring America, where she implements key elements of the Inflation Reduction Act, which she helped secure while a Legislative Assistant to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Camila co-founded the national nonprofit Our Climate and led the campaign that passed a 100% renewable electricity standard for Washington, DC. Earlier in her career, she worked for the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution and led outreach for a regional land-use planning process in Arizona.

Camila’s family is from southern Oregon and Chile, and she graduated from Whitman College and the Harvard Kennedy School. Her lifelong commitment to equitable climate action has been honored with the Udall Scholarship, Sitka Fellowship, Mic50, Grist50, D.C. Environmental Network Award, HKS Environmental Fellowship, and HKS Littauer Award. She loves bikes, dinner parties, and democracy.
