About Ben Katz
Ben Katz (he/him) joined the Conservation Lands Foundation in 2023 as the Southwest Associate Program Director. Originally from Connecticut, he graduated from the University of Vermont in 2012 with a B.S. in Environmental Science. He grew a fondness for the vast public lands across the west during two summers he spent as a Wilderness Ranger with the US Forest Service in the Weminuche and John Muir Wilderness Areas.
Most recently, he spent four years as the Public Lands Program Director with the FGN member Western Slope Conservation Center. Based in the North Fork Valley on the western slope of Colorado, Ben spends his time thinking about river rafting, hiking, and finding the best dispersed camping spot on BLM lands throughout the west.
