About Me
Kris Deutschman (pronoun: she) is CLF’s Senior Communications Director. Prior to joining the Conservation Lands Foundation, she was the founder and CEO of Deutschman Communications Group, Inc., and for more than 10 years served as a public affairs leader and communications strategist for public agencies, Fortune 50 companies, Native American tribes, and non-profit organizations in California.
She is an innovative thinker and has used communication strategies to bring visions to life and advance some of the country's most consequential environmental, health care, transportation, and startup policy issues.
In 2016, Kris was selected as one of 25 people in Stanford University's Distinguished Careers Institute, a year-long fellowship.
Prior to founding Deutschman Communications Group, Inc., Kris was a partner in one of California’s leading political consulting firms, Townsend Raimundo Besler & Usher.
Throughout her career, Kris has committed herself to giving back to the communities where she lives, serving as a pro bono advisor to community organizations, as president of the Sacramento YWCA, and as a board member of the Sacramento Metro Chamber responsible for initiating its young leaders program.
Kris is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, and completed the Executive Program for Women Leaders at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Friends, family, running and hiking, cycling, comics, and music are her fuel.
