About Jim Hellyer
Jim Hellyer has spent his life ranching in western Wyoming. The ranch is dependent on the combined use of private, state, and federal lands. Together, these lands create an economic and ecological unit that produces beef while co-existing with Wilderness Study Areas, migration corridors, and National Historic Landscapes.
Jim is currently a member of the Management Board of the Intermountain West Joint Venture, a public-private partnership that brings conservation at scale to the West through science, communication, and partnerships. Jim served most recently as a Director to the Public Lands Council (PLC), a rancher-oriented interest group dedicated to serving the livestock industry. Prior to PLC, Jim served as the Federal Lands Committee Vice-Chair, then Chair, with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Jim also served as a Regional Vice-President for the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, the National Outdoor Leadership School, and served in the US Army. He lives in Lander, Wyoming, where he ranches with his family.
