Charlotte Overby

Senior Field Director at Conservation Lands Foundation and New Mexico resident.

About Me

Charlotte Overby (she/her) is CLF’s Senior Field Director, leading and supporting the field team to develop diverse and effective coalitions, strengthen grassroots voices, and empower partners to work at the local level toward globally significant conservation. Before joining CLF, she was Communications Director and Acting Executive Director of the Nevada Wilderness Project. Prior to that, she worked in Patagonia’s creative services department in Ventura, California, coordinating catalog production teams.

She has an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri and worked as a freelance writer and editor for a variety of media, usually covering conservation and science issues. She was co-founder and director of Missouri River Relief, an organization that continues to measure its “results by the tons” of trash hauled from the river and by the thousands of kids who take river field trips. Charlotte is a double bass player—most recently with Swing Soleil, a jazz-swing quartet in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she lives with her partner, Barbara Lim.  [email protected]
