Durango, CO–The Conservation Lands Foundation’s executive director Brian Sybert  issued the following statement on today’s Senate Energy and Natural Resource Committee’s advancement of Tommy Beaudreau’s nomination as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Interior:

“The climate, health and biodiversity crises this country faces are immense and interrelated and Mr. Beaudreau possesses a unique blend of experience and vision to meet the moment.

“Mr. Beaudreau’s belief in collaborative and inclusive approaches to conservation make him ideally suited to help Secretary Haaland and the Biden Administration achieve the appropriate and ambitious steps they’ve laid out to transform our approach to the climate crisis.

“Mr. Beaudreau’s experience with the energy industry and his past roles in solving problems from within the Department of Interior demonstrate he has the ability to be a transformational Deputy Secretary for conservation.

“We’re excited to get to work with Mr. Beaudreau, Secretary Haaland and the talented team at Interior on the kind of bold, community-driven solutions that Americans want and need.”
