Five years? A century? A millennium?

In the Owyhee Canyonlands, where you can still find evidence of the geologic forces at work up to 16 million years ago, “a long time” takes on new meaning. The plants and wildlife that inhabit this landscape today have evolved over millennia to be perfectly suited to its arid climate and scarce water. This area has been home to Indigenous people since time immemorial, 13,000 years at least.
