Thank President Biden for protecting thirteen million acres of the Western Arctic
The Biden administration released a final conservation rule to protect thirteen million acres of valuable and vulnerable landscapes in America’s Arctic from oil and gas development and create a path forward to provide long-lasting protection for much more.
Send a message to thank President Biden for protecting millions of acres of ecologically important public lands in the Western Arctic and urge the administration to adopt stronger measures.

Thank you President Biden for finalizing the Management and Protection of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska conservation rule, which strengthens protections for the health of essential landscapes and waterways within America's Arctic.
Home to the Western Arctic and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, America’s Arctic contains essential wildlife habitat that supports biodiversity, local communities, and cultural and subsistence traditions of the Indigenous communities who have relied upon and stewarded these lands for millennia.
Today’s announcement is an important step toward protecting the Arctic, which is warming at four times the rate of other regions and is under threat from oil and gas drilling, but we know much more can - and should - be done. Protections for more Special Areas should be established to prevent threats and impacts from current and future projects.
America’s Arctic presents an opportunity to protect public lands on an unprecedented scale by fighting against climate change and sustaining the biodiversity that we all rely upon.
Thank you,
