2023 Highlights

The Conservation Lands Foundation had an impactful and successful year including these major accomplishments:

  • We added long-lasting protections to 1.5 million acres of public land (that’s the size of Delaware!), which serves multiple objectives including improving air and water quality, strengthening local economies, preserving sacred landscapes, and supporting our overall health and wellbeing.
  • We drove a record level of public support for the newly proposed Public Lands Rule, which puts conservation on equal footing with other uses for all 250 million acres managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
  • We won significant legal victories against attacks on Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments and Red Cliffs National Conservation Area in Utah.
  • We granted almost $2 million for community-led advocacy, restoration and public engagement programs through our Friends Grassroots Network.
