About Grand Staircase Escalante Partners

Grand Staircase Escalante Partners is the official friends group for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and we are committed to preserving and protecting its vast landscape for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

The Monument covers more area than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined, making it the largest unit in the National Landscape Conservation System. From glamorous dinosaur finds to discoveries of site-specific plant species, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument holds a wealth of yet-to-be analyzed scientific and cultural data.

Partners' support of the Monument is guided by four words: Science, Economics, Education, and Conservation. We aim to attract more research to the Monument; build a strong local economy around tourism and wise stewardship of Monument lands; educate the public about the nearly two-million-acre treasure that is the Monument; and apply sustainable conservation practices on the Monument.
