A birthday surprise for Ed Norton
Ed Norton, our founding chairman, is turning 81 on August 17! We’re launching a surprise birthday fundraiser to celebrate his altruism, his optimism, his persistent fight to protect public lands and to do what is right for our natural world. As you know, Ed has dedicated a good portion of his life to protecting wild and critical places, especially the National Conservation Lands.
In fact, Ed is in one of his favorite wild and critical places right now - the Western Arctic, where he often spends his birthday grounding himself in unfathomably beautiful and remote wilderness.
We’re planning to raise $8,100 by Ed’s return from the Western Arctic, to support our work to protect, restore, and expand the National Conservation Lands - one of Ed’s greatest life passions. You are welcome to read about CLF's impact here.We will share the results of your generosity with Ed upon his return, so please consider making your gift by August 24.
Don’t miss the chance to send a personal birthday wish to Ed in the comments field below.
And now for the exciting part: two of our guests at last year's dinner have generously donated $5,000 to kick this fundraiser off!
Plus, we have gifts for you! As a token of our great appreciation, donors of the highest amounts will receive a copy of the beautiful coffee table book Our National Monuments by Qt Luong, or a Haglöfs duffel bag for your next trip into the great outdoors, whichever option you prefer.
If you prefer to send us a check or give in another way, that's perfectly fine too. Just make a note that your gift is in honor of Ed, and include any birthday greetings you would like us to pass on to him.
Thank you for caring about Ed and his passion for protecting wild and critical places!
With gratitude from all of us at the Conservation Lands Foundation.
