The mission of the Council of Mexican Federations in North America (COFEM) is to empower immigrant communities to be full participants in the social, political, economic, environmental, and cultural life of the United States and their home country. COFEM offers three programs in the Coachella Valley focused on immigration, education, and environment to better support and serve our communities. COFEM’s environmental program facilitates the engagement and diversity of the Latino community in conservation efforts. We strive to be a bridge for Latino families and youth to peek their interest in outdoor recreation and the protection of public lands, so that they become a voice for the California desert.
