Chiqui Cartagena is chief marketing officer - leader of the Marketing & Communications Center at The Conference Board. She was previously senior vice president in the Political and Advocacy Group for Univision Communications Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In this role, she provided thought leadership and strategic guidance to help political candidates and advocacy organizations reach and engage Hispanics. 

As vice president of Corporate Marketing at Univision, she led the development and implementation of corporate marketing strategies and the creation of proprietary consumer research tools and ethnographies for various teams throughout the company. She was Cartagena was instrumental in the development of Univision’s Hispanic Vote website, an award-winning destination designed to help political strategists, media buyers and planners understand and reach Hispanic voters.

She is a Hispanic media and marketing pioneer with 25 years of experience developing, launching, and leading some of America’s most successful Spanish-language consumer magazines, including People en Español. Her career includes senior level positions at Story Worldwide, a digital content marketing agency and for Hispanic Ventures at Meredith where she developed integrated marketing programs for leading consumer brands including Columbia House’s Club Música Latina and TV Guide. Chiqui also has more than 10 years of experience as a broadcast journalist, having previously worked in the news divisions of Univision and Telemundo.

Chiqui's expertise has been acknowledged via numerous awards and distinctions. She's been named among the Top 50 Influencers by Campaigns & Elections magazine; honored with the MultiEthnic TV Leadership Award by Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News; is recipient of AdColor’s LEGENDS Award and a Gold PromaxBDA Award. She's also the author of “Latino Boom! Everything You Need to Know to Grow Your Business in the U.S. Hispanic Market” published in 2005 and “Latino Boom II,” the essential guide to marketing to Hispanics, published in 2013.
