Friends of Cedar Mesa is a nonprofit working to ensure the public lands of southeastern Utah, including Bears Ears and beyond, are respected and protected. FCM’s work includes stewardship, education, policy and advocacy, and archaeological site recording and monitoring centered around the significant cultural and natural resources of the region. In 2018, FCM opened the Bears Ears Education Center, a community-powered space designed to lessen impacts on the landscape by teaching visitors how to ‘Visit with Respect’.
