Greg Moore is CEO Emeritus and Special Advisor to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the National Park Service and Presidio Trust to preserve and enhance the Golden Gate National Parks. In this role, Greg supports major projects of the Conservancy, such as the Presidio Tunnel Tops, Crissy Field Next, and other key initiatives. Prior to this role, Greg served as the top executive of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy from 1986 to 2019. Greg was a founder of the Conservancy, its first executive director, and later its president & CEO.
Under Greg's leadership, the Parks Conservancy has become one of the most successful nonprofit organizations in supporting any area of the national park system, providing more than $550M to support park projects and programs.
During his tenure, the Conservancy received numerous national awards for excellence in interpretation, conservation, and park improvement efforts, and is known nationally and internationally for its innovative work. Greg has been honored with The San Francisco Foundation’s Community Leadership Award, a lifetime achievement award from SPUR, and the U.S. Department of the Interior Citizen’s Award for Exceptional Service.
Greg has served as an adviser to park projects throughout the country and internationally, including the National Parks, World Heritage Sites, and Monuments of Australia, Chile, China, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Greg also serves on the Boards of the National Parks Friends' Alliance and Healthy Parks Healthy People Global and is the Board President of the Association of Partners for Public Lands.
