Community Conversation: Defending Values and Finding Common Ground

Now more than ever, we need to see that Americans have a lot in common, even if we don’t vote the same way. The dismantling of protections for America’s public lands will devastate our natural resources and is happening at lightning speed within the administration and Congress.

It’s also not publicly or politically popular: given the choice between conservation and development on public lands, 72 percent of Western voters in the recent Conservation in the West Poll support conservation measures such as protecting clean air and water.

In this virtual Community Conversation we’ll be joined by co-author of the poll, Lori Weigel, whose roots in Republican politics have helped bridge partisan divides and create winning majorities. Lori will share insights on how voters across the political spectrum support keeping public lands in public hands and how to take an approach that centers on finding common ground where we can protect the outdoor spaces we need without compromising anyone’s values.

After RSVPing below, you'll receive the Zoom login information. You will also be able to submit a question you'd like our speakers to address during the event.

We look forward to engaging in this important conversation with you as we work together to defend and protect the lands we all love and need.
